Best of Seoul in One Day
Korea's oldest traditional market. Try 빈대떡 (mung bean pancakes) and 마약 김밥 (addictive kimbap) — iconic Seoul street breakfast.
Check the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center’s notice for your date before planning the guard ceremony. Confirm palace closure days and the hanbok admission conditions separately. A timetable in this itinerary is a planning suggestion, not an operator’s confirmed event time. Reference · royal.khs.go.kr
Walk 15 minutes from Gyeongbokgung through Seoul's most photogenic traditional village — 600-year-old hanok houses on winding alleys. Please be quiet for residents.
Head to Insadong for lunch. Try a 한정식 (Korean set meal) or a bowl of 비빔밥 in one of the traditional restaurants. Browse the craft shops afterward.
Take the cable car up Namsan mountain for panoramic Seoul views. The Love Lock fence at the base is iconic. Observatory entry is optional — the free outdoor deck is excellent.
At Myeongdong, compare sizes and displayed prices before choosing a shop. Ask 다른 사이즈 있어요? for another size and 교환 가능해요? about exchanges. Keep the receipt and confirm the shop’s conditions before paying.
Join locals for the ultimate Seoul evening: 치맥 (fried chicken + beer) at Han River Park. Order delivery via 배달의민족 app or buy from the riverside kiosks at Yeouido or Banpo Park.

Walk along Seoul's beautiful urban stream from Gwanghwamun toward Dongdaemun — 5.8 km of peaceful greenery cutting through the heart of the city.
Hongdae is Seoul's youth arts and nightlife hub. Street performers fill the squares from 7 PM. Eat dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant, then explore clubs, indie cafés, and arcade bars.
Take the 1호선 (Line 1) subway from Seoul Station — 50 minutes to Suwon Station. Or catch a train on the Gyeongbu line (35 minutes). No reservation needed.
Walk the full 5.7 km UNESCO fortress wall — took 28 months to build in 1796. Amazing views of the old city. The Hwahongmun water gate is the best photo spot.
Suwon is famous for 왕갈비 (king galbi) — huge beef short ribs grilled tableside. Head to the Hyanggyo-gil galbi alley for authentic restaurants that have been operating for decades.
30 minutes by bus from Suwon — a living museum of 260 traditional structures from the Joseon period. Craftsmen demonstrate weaving, pottery, and tightrope walking. Magical at sunset.
3 3 Days: Seoul + Gyeongju · 2박 3일
Modern Capital + Ancient Kingdom
Check the Royal Palaces and Tombs Center’s notice for your date before planning the guard ceremony.
Try 함흥냉면 (Hamheung cold noodles) — chewy buckwheat noodles in a spicy or broth base. A summer staple that's served all year.
Walk up Namsan from Myeongdong via the forest path (45 min). N Seoul Tower at the summit. Excellent city panorama — especially as dusk approaches.
Zaha Hadid's futuristic landmark glows at night. The surrounding fashion market opens from 8 PM — wholesale and retail clothing at excellent prices.
Book the KTX to 경주 (Gyeongju), the station formerly named 신경주 (Singyeongju). Compare departures on KORAIL and allow time for a local connection into the city. Ask 경주 가는 KTX 표 주세요. Journey times and available seats depend on the train. Reference · www.korail.com
One of Korea's most important Buddhist temples — UNESCO World Heritage. Built in 751, it sits halfway up Tohamsan mountain. The stone pagodas Dabotap and Seokgatap are extraordinary.
15-minute bus above Bulguksa. The 8th-century granite Buddha statue inside the artificial cave is one of Korea's greatest artistic achievements. Serene and deeply moving.
Eat near Bulguksa then head to 황리단길 (Hwangridangil) — Gyeongju's trendy café street lined with traditional hanok buildings. Buy the famous 황남빵 red bean pastries.
Walk among the vast burial mounds of Silla kings — some over 20 meters high. Enter Cheonmachong tomb to see the original royal burial goods. Magic hour light is stunning here.
The world's oldest surviving astronomical observatory (built 632 AD) is surrounded by flower fields — spectacular at sunrise before tour buses arrive.
Before renting a bicycle in Gyeongju, ask 반납은 어디서 해요? (Where do I return it?). Check the return deadline, helmet availability and route surface. Choose a walking route if cycling conditions do not suit your group.
Afternoon train returns you to Seoul in 2 hours. Enough time for a final bowl of 삼겹살 in the evening before departure.
