Korean School is an independent one-person project by 해본놈RK (Haebonnom RK) — a native Korean speaker based in South Korea, fluent in English and conversational in Vietnamese. By day he works in international sales and administration at a manufacturing company; outside work he builds this site, writing and reviewing every lesson and culture guide himself.
Why you can trust these lessons
He was born and lives in South Korea and speaks Korean natively, so the Korean on this site is the language people actually use — not textbook sentences nobody says out loud. Because he uses English every day in international sales, he writes explanations in the language learners actually read, and he knows which English assumptions quietly break when applied to Korean grammar. Having learned a foreign language himself, he also knows where learners get stuck: particles, speech levels, and the gap between what a phrase means and when it is socially appropriate. Every lesson and culture guide here is written and checked by him personally — none of it is licensed from a content mill or published unreviewed.
How this content is made
Being open about this matters: AI tooling assists with drafting and translation on this site, and it was built with Claude Code. But AI is never the final authority on Korean accuracy. Every Korean sentence, romanization, and cultural claim is reviewed by 해본놈RK before it is published, and anything he cannot personally vouch for does not go up. The English source text is his; the other language versions are AI-assisted translations of that source, reviewed to differing depth depending on how far each language version has progressed. Illustrations on the culture and travel pages are AI-generated unless credited otherwise.

Japanese, Chinese (Traditional), and Spanish are fully translated. German, French, Vietnamese, Thai, and Indonesian are still being brought up to the same standard, so some article prose in those versions may still appear in English.
